First - Welcome to the Chromebook Community!
My personal website has gotten to the point where it gets over 1,000 unique visitors a week with most of the users visiting my ChromeOS coverage and tutorials. I get several emails every week from Chromebook users with questions, advice and general help. While I still do welcome these emails, I figure that there may be more value if these discussions are done in the open so everyone can benefit from them. This is the reason why I created the Chromebook Community.
This community uses a tag style hierarchy instead of the typical category layout that most forums use. The aim of this is to simplify navigation by not requiring members to dig through various forums and sub forums to find information. When posting a new post, all users will need to choose a tag that closely represents the reason for the post.
It is my hope that this community grows organically over the next few months and will continue to evolve. The Following Tags Are Present on Day One and more will be added as needed/requested:
News - This section will cover the latest ChromeOS news. If you own a blog or website that covers ChromeOS news, feel free to post a small summary of your post along with a link to your posts in this category. I ask that links be limited to 3 a week however if you are person who owns a site that primarily covers ChromeOS/Tech, please contact me to have this rule relaxed. All posts in this category must be original works by the author and not simply scraped from other websites. Any post in this that appears to be spam will be removed.
ChromeOS Help/ChromeOS Hardware Help - Chromebooks are by its nature designed to be simple, reliable and user friendly but technical issues are always possible. The biggest difference with these tags is to denote if you need help with hardware or software.
Tips and Tricks - Share the tips and tricks that make you a ChromeOS master so others may benefit. This section is also ideal for instructors who use ChromeOS in the classroom.
Accessories - more and more accessories are being released that work perfectly with ChromeOS, this section is to discuss and make recommendations on accessories.
Hacking and Modification - This is specifically for owners of ChromeOS devices who wish to void their warranty and venture into the portions of the hardware and software that most never see. This section will NOT help you break into a Chromebook you do not own or bypass restrictions on managed ChromeOS devices.
Android - This section is to discuss Android applications on ChromeOS
Linux - This section is to discuss Linux on ChromeOS
Development - Developers are welcomed to discuss software development on ChromeOS. Feel free to showcase any application that was designed to take advantage of ChromeOS and discuss ideas for new ones.
General - This is a catch all for all items that dont fit into any of the other tags
This community is designed to be as inclusive as possible and as such users from all walks of life are welcome. Open and honest discussions are encouraged, I kindly ask that all members are treated with respect and all members follow the rules.
This site is available as a PWA (Progressive Web App) and was designed to scale properly on mobile devices as well as Chromebooks.
I am always looking for feedback, Please don't hesitate to add any feedback as a response to this thread.
